Asia University Is in the 2021 List of Best Universities in Taiwan ranked by the Global Views Monthly Magazine---

AU is ranked No. 3 in the private universities in the comprehensive university region in Taiwan; and No. 3 in the non-medical universities in the private university region!

The 2021 Ranking of the Best Universities in Taiwan is released by the Global Views Monthly Magazine today. Asia University (AU) is ranked No. 12 in Taiwan and No. 3 in the private universities in the “Top 30 of Comprehensive Universities,” and ranked No. 7 in the private universities and No. 3 in non-medical universities in the “Top 30 of Private Universities.”

The 2021 Ranking of the Best Universities in Taiwan by Global Views Monthly Magazine is divided into five categories, namely, Comprehensive Universities, Humanities, Law, and Business Universities, Medical Universities, Private Universities, and Technical Universities. According to a survey by The Global Views Monthly Magazine, the epidemic has impacted various businesses and industries, and also subverted the “ecology” of higher education; and the society expects universities to have social responsibilities, solve human social problems, and join hands in medical innovation across fields to fight the virus. In the future, universities will focus on brand rebuilding and specialization, extend their advantages, integrate across domains, and find the strongest competitiveness.

According to the 2020 Ranking of the Best Universities in Taiwan by the Global Views Monthly Magazine, AU is ranked No. 13 among the top 30 comprehensive universities, raising a place in the ranking this year. Furthermore, AU is ranked No. 8, also improving by one place in the top 30 private universities this year. In addition, the Global Views Monthly Magazine specifically marked a “Continuing Progress” of AU in the title of the ranking report because AU is the youngest university among the 30 universities including the National Taiwan University on the list, and has just completed her 20th anniversary. As mentioned above, in the past six years, AU has been on the list every year in many rankings by the Global Views Monthly Magazine, and all of AU’s ranks are among the best, showing that the effort of a young school may gain attention and affirmation as well.

President of AU, Prof. Jeffrey J. P. Tsai, said that in the Ranking of the “Best Universities in Asia” published by the Times Higher Education Special Issue earlier this month, AU is ranked No. 139 in Asia, No. 10 in Taiwan, and No. 3 in the private universities. Furthermore, this international ranking is comparable to the domestic ranking of the Global Views Monthly Magazine, and it can prove that AU has achieved consistent performances in school running at home and abroad.

The Global Views Monthly Magazine pointed out that the Ranking of the Best Universities in Taiwan optimizes the indicators every year to accurately reflect the society's expectations and needs for higher education. In addition, the Global Views Monthly Magazine also combines the public opinion research survey, the government public information, the Elsevier's Scopus database which is the world's largest academic database, and SciVal research analysis indicators; and publishes the top 30 rankings based on 43 indicators in six aspects, allowing universities to understand their competitiveness position.

It is found in the survey of the Global Views Monthly Magazine that the epidemic has locked the world away, and principals no longer regard increasing international cooperation as the primary task. In the future, they will focus on brand rebuilding and specialization as the main axis, extend their advantages, integrate across domains, and find the strongest competitiveness for the sustainable development of school affairs.
